Digital Roses — Noise Petals

Noise Petals is a multidisciplinary live work by experimental art-pop duo Digital Roses, bringing together electronic sound, live instrumentation, voice, contemporary dance, poetry, projection and technology within a constantly shifting performance environment.

Working as Choreographer and Creative Director, Tony Adigun developed a movement language that existed in direct conversation with the project’s sonic and visual world. Rather than treating projection as a backdrop, the creative process explored how the body could intersect with, respond to and become part of the projected image — allowing movement, light and digital content to continually reshape one another.

The choreography was developed alongside Digital Roses’ distinctive fusion of ambient noise, experimental electronica and soulful vocal composition, with musicians performing live within the work. This created an exchange between physical movement and live sound, allowing rhythm, texture and musical improvisation to influence the dancers in real time.

Tony’s approach centred on dissolving the boundaries between disciplines. Bodies moved through projected environments; live musicians became part of the visual composition; and choreography operated alongside sound, image and technology as an equal storytelling language.

The result was an immersive contemporary performance world positioned somewhere between live music, dance, installation and audiovisual art — reflecting Digital Roses’ experimental approach while extending their sonic identity into physical space.
