Choreography & Music Editing and Arrangement — Tony Adigun
Commissioned by The Place | Robert Cohan at 90

Tony Adigun was selected and commissioned by The Place to create a new work for its celebration of pioneering choreographer Robert Cohan’s 90th birthday. Taking inspiration from Cohan’s Forest, Wilderness brings Adigun’s distinctive movement language into dialogue with an influential work of British contemporary dance.

Working with dancers from The Place’s Children and Youth Dance programme and Centre for Advanced Training, Adigun shaped an ensemble work connecting his choreographic approach with the individuality and potential of emerging performers. His editing and arrangement of the music placed the relationship between movement and sound at the centre of the creation, reflecting his integrated approach to choreography, musicality and dancer development.
